Monongalia Arts Center (MAC)
Monongalia Arts Center (MAC) is a non-profit arts and culture center serving Morgantown and Monongalia County. The MAC offers classes in both the visual and performing arts, as well as housing the Benedum Gallery , Davis Gallery and Tanner Theatre.WVU Community Music Program
WVU's Creative Arts offers several music classes for all ages in its Community Music Program. In Music for Babies parents interact with their babies in playful activities which include lullabies, bounces, tickles and more to nurture your child’s development. Explore & Enjoy for ages 2-3 allows you & your toddler to explore the delightful world of music! Learn games & activities you can both do together to develop a strong musical foundation, including rhymes, singing, storytelling, dramas and more! Fridays, 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m.; Janna Kisner, Instructor.
Musicland Express for 4-6 year olds is a great way to foster musical learning! Children discover & play with music through their voices in singing, their hands in playing musical instruments & their bodies in movement. Enjoyment of these fun activities involves the whole child (and sometimes the parent or caregiver). Fridays, 4:15.m.; Janna Kisner, Instructor.
Young children ages 7-8 that enjoy singing will delight in our Elementary Choir. This class is designed to promote the fun of group singing while training the individual voice. Focusing on breathing, diction, and expressiveness, the class features songs of many countries and languages, songs offering solo opportunities and just plain fun songs frequently involving movement. Wednesdays, 5:00-5:55 p.m.; Deborah Morgan, Instructor.
Youth Choir is designed for the more experienced singer ages 9-14. This class features repertoire from opera, folk, art song and popular music. Vocal and performance technique is refined, with special emphasis on breathing, diction, foreign languages as well as 3 and 4 part harmonies and opportunities for solo singing. Wednesdays, 6:00-6:55 p.m.; Deborah Morgan, Instructor.
